It just seems that this game has taken over my son's life.  We hardly ever see him anymore, he is always in his bedroom playing that stupid video game.  I would just once like to sit and talk with him as we did only a year ago.  However, since his balls dropped ending in the word "teen" it seems that all the foundational work I put in for 12 years has gone out the window and we've become strangers.

My son is 14 and video games and the Mac are my number one enemies. When he won't get off the game I sit there and have him explain it to then he starts talking about his day while he's playing.
It's worth a shot, they usually love explaining how the game works.

The call to Auto Storage was fast. When the men pulled up this morning, I had them take the XBox, PS4, Computers. iPhones, iPads, and the Wii, as well as Kim's furniture and clothes. The only computer is my iMac locked in my room. They will find out this afternoon when they return from school.
I'm thinking 1 year. I'll tell you if there is a change in them.

Omg , my soon to be ex plays this hours on hours. Video games played a huge role in our Demise. I hear through the speakers he’s playing with kids, girls, women, men . It’s such a shame is missing the best years of his kids life over a game. He’s on that game all the time screaming yelling. When I confront him he says everyone does it . No they freaking don’t. I don’t have advice per say Just an insight maybe of what it could turn into . It’s apparwnrlt addicting . I would def limit the time or I don’t even know ... just don’t let him become so obsessed that it ruins his life like it did to me :( good luck

Wow, Kudos to you!!! That damn game lasted only a few days before he broke one of the 4 rules to keeping it. (1. do your homework 2. keep your grades up 3. give me the controllers at 9pm 4. go to your after school practice -- waaay easy rules, right?) Lost for 1 week.

Less than a week later, I discovered some emailed "receipts" coming through on my PayPal account. I called PlayStation and was informed that he had purchased (I say STOLEN) $220.00 in FortNite "lives" (or whatever you call them - I call them a waste of money). GONE! 1 month. I know, it should be longer - if he ever gets them back.

My son has ADHD and a defiant disorder that lacks all respect, rationale and empathy when it comes to any form of discipline. So parenting him is a very challenging, frustrating, energy draining and heartbreaking experience, especially as a single mother. This game has brought it to a head.

What game do you play? I don't know how you are, but I still play the game that I played all my childhood, but now I also make money.
