Hey y'all so I'm a single mom to be (I'm pregnant). And I have not EVER had a great conversation with the father... I mean he is really abusive towards me and recently has said that he got me pregnant on purpose. I am def. keeping the baby and I have been torn between letting the father be a part of my child's life or not. HELPPPPP.....

Hi! First off let me start by saying congratulations! I am also a single parent of four and I'm pregnant with my fifth child. I've been in that type of toxic relationship and I can tell you from the abuse (physically,mentally, and emotionally) and the same exact words from my abuser "I got you pregnant on purpose", you should leave him alone. More than likely he'll NEVER be a good dad to your baby. From 6 years of experience of the mind games, disrespect, etc. I can tell you that adult males like that don't change much. the doctor's appointment's, he'll probably never go to none of them. Leave Him alone NOW! Focus on you and your baby, it does hurt at times because we want the father of our children apart of their life. But some adult males aren't MEN. And please make no mistake, if he disrespects you in any way, shape, form, or fashion and then tells you that he got you pregnant on purpose, he just wants to bring you down.

So sorry you didn't have a good relationship with the child's bio father.
I guess the main question is what is going to make him treat your child better than he treated you? Because he probably won't. And, if he's just going to mistreat the child (and him just saying he won't wouldn't convince me) then he's not the right person for the child to be around.

I hope you find a way to manage this situation that you feel is safe and supportive.
