Single Parenting Support Group
Today being raised by a single parent is not uncommon. About three in ten children live in a single parent home. The most common type of single parent home is one with only a mother. However, single father homes are the fastest growing type of family situation; 60% growth in the last ten years alone.

I was first a single mom when I just turnes 17 when my son was born. It was incredibly hard, money, time, energy, inexperience in my case.
I started dating my husband when I was 19/20 we got married about 10 yeats years after. We have two girls who are 5 and 7.
Unfortunately my husband was killed by a drunk driver 3 years ago this week and I'm a single mom all over.
No parent is perfecr, some of the worst I've seen over rhe years (both as a teacher/educator and through my children's friends and classmates families) aee the wealthy married ones. Single moms give all their affection and time to their kids not husbands
Do you have a support network? My mom kicked me out at 16 when she found out I was pregnant and I was cut off by my family permanently. However my baby's father's parents took me in and have been my supporr network. Its a vit
What else are you struggling with? Money was hard for me. I was able to get my GED but was stuck waiting tables. I made some mistakes, struggles with addiction, but finally clean I started night classes at the local community college for sign language interpreting for the Deaf. The college helped get me scholarships qnd grants for poor single moms.
There's lots of other resources and help depending on what you need.

It also helps to have family or friends who are supportive and present. But, don't put up with being mistreated to get that.
Make sure you have a solid support system - friends, family, neighbors, teachers, church members, etc. It truly takes an entire town these days to raise children properly because there is such a wide circle of influence on their young lives. You want to make sure that their circle of influence is made of people with integrity.
