*Raising Hand*. We get along really well. Go to same mutual parties, easy kid exchanges, we live on the same street, have the same parenting philosophies. It really makes life easy on the 3 of us. I wish everyone could be that lucky because it is so much easier than the alternative.

"pleasant"? I wish! "Working" that's what it is... WORK. I so wish we could operate as two mature adults who could truly look at things objectively as what is best for the kids, but alas, I despair of that ever happening.

the only pleasantries are when we do not see or talk or communicate with one another. I am joint parents with...
another child. She cannot communicate, does not follow any normal rules we'd created as parents when we were married, the list is endless.
I'd be better off raising them on my own. I am doing the raising, she does the complete off the wall no parenting. it is unnerving and ridiculous.

The only relationship I have with her is anything to do with my son. We talk, she picks him up at my plac and comes in, we talk, they leave. I pickup at her place, I go in, I leave, other than that and talking about his grades ro events, that is all. Now that is 5 years later. We care civil but not friends.

I FINALLY GOT TO A POINT WHERE HATING HER GUTS WASN'T GETTING ME ANY SATISFACTION OR ANY MORE TIME WITH MY SON, SO I BEGAN TO CHANGE MY TOON, AND AFTER I GOT BACK ON MY FEET AND GOT TO A POINT THAT I COULD MAKE SUPPORT PAYMENTS, SHE THEN BEGAN TO LET ME HAVE MORE TIME WITH MY SON TO THE POINT WHERE IF SHE GOES OUT OF TOWN ON A WEEKEND, I GET TO BE WITH MY SON FOR OVER HALF OF THE WEEK.
SO NOW WE'RE CORDIAL, AND WE ARE ABLE TO MAKE ARRANGMENTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR SON.
I'M ALOT MORE SATISFIED WITH THE TIME WITH MY SON AND ALOT MORE AT PEACE WITH LIFE NOW.

If you call not speaking to her or seeing her more than once or twice every week or two...than I do!
No it is sad. My kids have literally seen there mom less than 5 min in the last week.

I would certainly not use the word pleasant by any means but for my son, I keep things respectful. Anytime you share custody, you have to be able to communicate for the best interest of your child. However, I most certainly keep the calls and visits to a minimal and straight to the point.

I wish I can say that but she wants me to force the kids to do things with her that they don't want to do.

I'm lucky if she is civil with me.

We do not talk over the phone, we can only text and even then she often starts in on me, at which point i simply step out of the conversation.

one day i might be able to get her to be civil, but in the interim, i just do my thing and try to not be bothered by the things she does to me and our daughter.

Hell, my ex is going through another divorce and thinks she is my best friend now. It's strange to say the least. I still don't trust her but I gotta due what I gotta due for my son.
