After the last six months I think that I am going to put a lot of stuff on hold, now after the past few weeks I am putting dating on hold.
I was doing okay with dating on a few sites, match.com and POF, but I wasn't find exactly what I was looking for...a relationship.
Then with the stuff going on at work I decided that it was the final straw. I am putting almost everything on hold until my life is straightened out.
Here is a brief on my situation.
I am currently in the tail end of a divorce that will be done around January 1. I am now job hunting because my current job, a Police Officer for a large town, has turned into a nightmare and a hostile work environment. I am resigning from there tomorrow and I haven't even heard from the place where I had an interview because I am a giant target at work right now and they have gotten me to the point where my health is suffering (Oh, and my workplace has lied to me twice and I was placed on a permamenent midnight shift with no known time of when I was getting off of it even though they promised to take me off of it as soon as possible). My health is way too important and I am at too much of a risk to continue on what I was doing.
So to make a long story short, I have moved into my parents house for a while to re-organize things. I have wanted to move back to my hometown for a while because I would be closer to my boat anyways but it sucks to have to move back in with my parents.
The other goal that I have to put on hold is retiring at 50. Where it is still slightly possible if I stay out of Police Work for only 3 years, I am trying to just get out of police work. I was going to retire at 50 and sail south for the winter on my boat and live aboard it in the Bahamas. I would come back North during Hurricane Season.
I have just decided to take a break. Who the hell would want to date a 31 year old guy who just moved in with his parents and who is not job hunting because he is sick of the stresses and other issues with his work?
This past year has been absolute hell on me. I have had kidney stones, a broken arm, uncontrolled high blood pressure, diagnosed with depression and anxiety, lost a promotion at work (witch hunt), had my wife leave me, she got the house, and now I am quitting my job because it has gotten bad again (they just won't leave me alone). UGH!!!! I had a heart attack at 28 and that was nothing compared to what I have been through this year.
Anyways, until I can get my life back on track I think that I am going to stop dating all together and just concentrate on getting everything set.

I would love to find a job on and around the water but who knows.
As for the dating, don't worry so much about it...just get yourself back on track, and then you will be able to focus on dating again and finding the right person for you.
I hate the way my life has gone for the past few months. It is like a constant uphill battle and nothing has gone the way I wanted it to. I know what hard times are and I know what it is like to fight and fight some more.
At this point I am sending out tons of applications to try to find something. I am even looking back into Law Enforcement but even the Police Departments and Sheriff's Offices don't seem to be hiring because of the economy. I should appear really attractive to a police department because of my certifications, qualifications, and specialities. Who knows, I just need a job quick!
I figure that I can hold out until the End of Feburary. I hope that I find something soon.
Why must I fail? Why must life be so hard?
