Shyness is a feeling of insecurity that certain people experience while being among others, talking with others, asking favors of others, etc. The initial cause of shyness can vary. Scientists have located some genetic data that supports the hypothesis that shyness is at least partially genetic.

One of the very real dangers (yes, dangers!) of being shy is waiting too long to act when we know what we could or should do - is this timidness (not the same as cowardice by any means) a problem for anyone else? How do we keep in mind that there are rewards in just trying to do something?

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I recently watched "The Secret." The law of attraction. There was a part in there that said when you want to do something, don't hesitate, just do it. But how?! How can I just put all of the years of anxiety aside and go for it? It's not as easy as they make it sound.
I've probably ruined my career because I let things go.
