Yeah, I'm the same. My mom keeps telling me to 'be more outgoing' at school...but that would be too hard, walking into school and talking to everyone you normally don't talk to!! I think I would try to 'start fresh' if I ever move to a different school, but now it's just to weird.

I agree with you, it seems I need some sort of big "change" to show myself to other people. Once that window has closed then it seems like you can't break out and make friends because they have already seen you around and haven't said hello.

I don't actually think i'm shy, because when I have to move dorms at UNI, I found the first few weeks I was really outgoing, but then just managed to slip back into being a hermit. Perhaps sometimes you just want to be shy?

But with me I just think it is a conflict of interest. I don't drink, and what do people usually do at UNI? Party. That's right. It's hard.

I have that problem. I start new schools and I change and become more open, but with my old friends I can't seem to be that person. I don't know why. Now I'm starting a school with old friends and I want to be more outgoing, but how can I do that if I act the same around my old friends?

i feel that way as well particularly at my job. i feel like if i can go work at new job then i will try harder to open up around new people but i can't do it at my current job no matter how hard i try. its very frustrating cuz i like my job.
