Shyness Support Group
Shyness is a feeling of insecurity that certain people experience while being among others, talking with others, asking favors of others, etc. The initial cause of shyness can vary. Scientists have located some genetic data that supports the hypothesis that shyness is at least partially genetic.
My advice to you is to try to be an example and try to be more active and meet more people.
Easier said than done huh, but that is the best way that I can think of.
The first step that I would advice is to first to try setting goals. Try to talk to so many people a week like 1 or 2 the first week then increase that number steadily past later weeks. Don't be increasing the number from 1 to 3 in one week try to increase the goal every 2-4 weeks.
I had to talk to him, let him know there isn't a thing wrong with him, listen when he needed it and encouraged him to get out more. If he was searching "How not to be shy" that is a good thing. He isn't internalizing and becoming depressed over it, he is trying to understand it. He's 14, he will worry about everything personally. Mine is getting into the girl thing and I worry, that is one handsome child...
