Shyness Support Group
Shyness is a feeling of insecurity that certain people experience while being among others, talking with others, asking favors of others, etc. The initial cause of shyness can vary. Scientists have located some genetic data that supports the hypothesis that shyness is at least partially genetic.
It's really tough to be shy. It's easy to make friends when you are relaxed. So think about a group activity where you feel you would be relaxed and able to have a good time. I am very anxious when I have to start a conversation with strangers. What I did (before the pandemic) is plan a day to go to a luncheon at a local place where they do a lot of groups and fun activities. I ended up talking to a lot of people and it was a nice time. Believe me, I fought with myself at first. Oh I don't wanna go. What am I going to tell these people. Everyone has a more exciting life than I do.
But I fought thru all that marlarkey and decided to go to the luncheon and have a nice time. So try to find out what would make you at ease and tell yourself that You deserve to have a nice time. I also, tried to prepare by looking up on the internet some questions to ask to have a conversation with a stranger. That made me feel a little more prepared. Just try. I know you can do it!!!
