Shyness is a feeling of insecurity that certain people experience while being among others, talking with others, asking favors of others, etc. The initial cause of shyness can vary. Scientists have located some genetic data that supports the hypothesis that shyness is at least partially genetic.
Hello there, you shy person!
Things are a little too quiet in this community. I'm shy too, but I admit that sometimes silence makes me feel uncomfortable - and here's the worst part of it: I can be surrounded by thousands of people and feel as lonely and isolated as if I were a hermit on a mountain peak! People keep to themselves far too much.
Icebreakers, or conversation starters, seem to have disappeared. Nobody laughs at my jokes anymore. They just turn their faces away from me. People walk around playing with their electronic games and cell phones. I can't start a conversation in the line at the supermarket. What has happened to us?
Why did the chicken cross the road?

Why did the baby cross the road?
Because it was stapled to the chicken!
