What is the biggest challenge that you face because of your shyness? What would you most like to overcome because of your shyness?

I'll go first...I think that my biggest challenge was to see myself as more than just shy because my whole life I identified myself as shy. Now I realize that I have other characteristics, besides the shyness.

The biggest challenge for me has been to get passed the feeling that I am unworthy of love and happiness, and that people are better off without me. Because I felt that way for many years, I made the decision to deliberately avoid relationships and social situations. My shyness and social anxiety only became increasingly worse during this time. Recently I was fortunate to start seeing a good doctor and she has tried to help me overcome these beliefs. I respect her opinions and don't want to disappoint her so I'm trying, but changing such long-term beliefs and habits is hard.

mostly in school, doing group projects. i always feel really awkward cause i dont ever really say anything.

and also,
i have a pretty sarcastic/dark sense of humor,
and i dont think most of the people at my school "get" it--
especially since im shy.
so its always kinda awkward if i do slip and make a joke about something.

When I had my children I had to make more of a effort for them...Going to toddler groups was very difficult for me...Though I did end up making a few friends...One I am still friends with after 15 yrs...
