as someone with so much hands on experience with shingles, why is there not a treatment protocol yet that actually works? Why do people have to suffer so much? I know it is not your fault but from a medical perspective I cannot understand how doctors write a prescription for gabapentin and say see you in three months....I just feel so helpless like I am all alone with this and that doctors do not really care...is there a clinic in boston that I should know about???? help if you can
But more than that, the pain is so terrific that your doctor should be available to you daily if needed until the problem is resolved.
I understand primary doctors are simply overwhelmed these days. Have you considered seeing a pain specialist? Or a Neurologist? Don't give up on this. Be persistent. And if your doctor is not there for you when you need him/her most, maybe it's time to move on. There are caring people out there!
