I have read that you can have shingles with no rash. If this is the case how would you know that it is shingles? I had a reoccurance of bad pain two weeks ago after my pain had been getting better for 3 months. It was in the same location as my original outbreak. How do I know whether or not it was the shingles without a rash or the PHN pain back because of alot of stress. The pain seems to be getting better again, but I am wondering about this. It makes me want to continue to take antivirals forever to prevent another outbreak.
