Shingles Support Group
Herpes zoster, colloquially known as shingles, is the reactivation of varicella zoster virus, leading to a crop of painful blisters over the area of a dermatome. It occurs very rarely in children and adults, but its incidence is high in the elderly (over 60), as well as in any age group of immunocompromised patients.
Serious problems occurred with the Vitreous gel in eye which became jello. Creepy feeling under eyelid that feels like tearing but is the gel moving. Finally cleared up and my actual eye is no longer in jeopardy but the side effects of the shingles to my eyelid, nerve pain in and around my eye continue.
Now have been advised I have PHN.
There is sure not a lot of info on the side effects of this disease.
