Herpes zoster, colloquially known as shingles, is the reactivation of varicella zoster virus, leading to a crop of painful blisters over the area of a dermatome. It occurs very rarely in children and adults, but its incidence is high in the elderly (over 60), as well as in any age group of immunocompromised patients.

I'ts been a couple of years since I've been on Daily Strength, but I need advice again. Almost 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Shingles. I've known about this health condition, but never paid much attentionn to it. Well, it's a horrible disease, especially the pain. I am already taking the meds that are usually used for it (Lyrica, prednisone, Nucynta) for my other conditions, so there is nothing else to add to that. My pain management doctor, has his license to prescribe medical marijuana. Has anyone here used it for shingles? If not, does anyone have experience with taking it for chronic pain? I'm wondering if I should ask him for it when I see him next week. I don't know if I have to stop one of the other meds or not, to take it. It is also very expensive here (approx. $250/month for the drops), but maybe I could use it in addition to the others. This pain from shingles is worse than any I've had, except maybe for my radical mastectomy. But maybe since I'm 20 years older makes it seem worse. I've really appreciate any info on using Medical Marijuana for pain relief. Thanks! Kathy
Do know that the marijuana you use would probably need to have THC in it. I do not think that plain CBD would be that helpful as it works best with inflammation.
