So far it is just me replying, although I know there are bound to be more shingle-haters out there. But anyway, I really, really, really, really, really, really haaaaate shingles. They are eeevil. They burn and itch and cause pain and paralysis and make my face look stupid. I just really, really hate shingles. You get the point I'm trying to make, lol?

I hate shingles and what they do to people! Mom was in good shape for an 85 year old but spent her 86th birthday almost unconscious with them. In about 2 weeks she will be 87.
Sometimes she says when did an event happen or what did we do about something else. She is blank about the last half of last year. It has been so horrible from last June-12 to now. Our doctor is quitting and I feel helpless about finding someone who will really care for her like he did. The one constant person we could turn to the past 15 years isn't going to be there. All I want to do is cry.
To add to the emotional pain, I lose my job the end of September. I am not old enough to not work. I pray something happens to make our lives better cause it sucks now.
I'm sorry for the pitty party. But sometimes you just gotta get it off your chest.
I agree with everything you hate about shingles. So do we! But you don't look stupid, new friend.

Merry, it sounds like things are going awful for you and your family. When my Mom was terminally I'll with breast cancer, her doctor fired her after she lost her good health insurance. It was awful, a betrayal on top of being terminally ill. I hope you are able to find a suitable replacement physician. Shingles is really awful. I don't think most people really understand all the ways shingles can affect you. My profile picture was taken before I had shingles on my face, scars, and Bell's palsy, so I look somewhat rougher now. I'm so sorry about your job loss, also. Talk about one thing after another! I will be praying for you and your Mom on all fronts. Keep me updated about you and your Mom. I know from experience that it is really hard taking care of a sick parent, so my heart goes out to you. Try to take a little time to take care of yourself also.

I detest tnr deep burning pain that i cannot find relief from. Its hard because its my right hand and arm. All i can do is try living sith one left hand to use.

I keep hoping someday i will end soon.

A lot

Magic Pill, I also have shingles on my right hand and arm! I am in my 6th week of constant pain. Most of the blisters/rash has cleared except for on and around my thumb. I also have had to learn to do everything with my left hand. I was given antiviral meds and 3 different strengths of pain meds but nothing stops the pain. A friend brought me a jar of Terrasil cream for shingles and it is soothing and sometimes seems to help with the pain in my thumb. Enough so that I ordered some more. If you find anything else that helps please post.

I just got this on 7-4 but I hate it quite a bit. it made my back surgery seem like a scraped knee! I am worried about my work. I am only 43 years old. Has anyone dealt with their work on this issue. has anyone got disability or what do I do. I do not think I can work with this pain.

I hate shingles more than I hate my sister-in-law.
