I do crochet, so far I've only made afghans and a few scarves. If you type "free and easy crochet patterns" into your search bar, you can find lots of patterns you can use. I'd very much like to learn to crochet more things, like hats and gloves. My mother used to make all kind of knitted and crocheted items.

I do enjoy crochet! My Mum taught me to sew when I was very small (which I consider one of the blessings of my life) and taught me to crochet only a year ago ( still learning from her at the grand old age of 49!). I visit her for afternoon sessions of crotchet and afternoon tea at least once a week and we watch the BBC series of Time Team together. I tend to learn one pattern at a time, picking shapes I have found appealing (triangles, linked rings and a tutty rug so far) and then set to. I have made a rug for several of the very special people in my life in not very long. I think of the person with every stitch, so I blend my love in as I go... Mine are 'hug rugs'! I am wildly creative at times with my sewing and other crafts, but crotchet sustains me as I can create using my love for others and patterns that others have created, when my own creativity isn't so accessible for different reasons. Your avatar is lovely- the babies look very content to be together... Do you have a colour that really inspires your work? I use to crochay ....years ago ....but right now I am more interested in painting and crostiching ....but I would love to see some of your work .....I made scarves ..blankets ....................is ..it crochaying ...when you make those fancy table clots or is that ...Neil point .....what ever it is my brother is so good at it ...way better than me at that ..he makes doilies ..so he did all the things he wanted for his house and he had years... ago did a beautifull table cloth for our mother ...he can do any thing with wood ..make puzels ..I was helping him and we were selling them ....but we live to far apart ..I was getting creative and he was puting it to the wood ...my dad had a wood working shop and we were all in there at one time or a nother making some of the furniture we have in our houses ....have a great day ...God bless

YouTube is the best way to learn. Watch, stop, go. I don't read patterns as Grandma didn't either. Now at 71 I am doing a Good job!
