Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are diseases or infections that have a significant probability of transmission between humans by means of sexual contact. This community is devoted to helping any women seeking support with STDs, whether you have one or you know someone else who does.
I was diagnosed with severe depression about 3 days ago. Have not received any treatment, but am due to start counselling soon.
And about a week ago in a very vulnerable moment, i made the biggest mistake of my life by having a one night stand with a complete stranger. I don't think the guilt, feelings of worthlessness or emotional turmoil that resulted will ever really leave me.
As a consequence, i have been worrying myself sick about the repercussions it could have on my health. Have been suffering from that special type of hypochondria reserved for your ladybits :'(
And although we used protection, i remember seeing one strange scab above his pubic region during the deed. He didnt say anything though, and i assumed in the heat of the moment it didn't matter :(
It has been a week since, and im starting to get stinging pains in my inner thighs and underwear region.
I have never been more terrified. I think i have contracted herpes. I dont know what to do because ive checked and i dont have any outward symptoms, but i am beginning to be in quite a great deal of discomfort.
I feel like my life is over. Im so young :( and im really scared
As a result I have sat and anxiously pulled out half the eyelashes on my right eye. Completely gone. Bald. And now im crying from that too. I am so, so scared right now, and have never felt more worthless.
I desperately need some support, or even just some kind words. I feel like i deserve the turmoil im in due to being foolish enough to make that mistake....but i cant tell my family or friends and i feel so alone

I really feel for you. You need to call your doctor or nearest family planning org. and get checked out. From what ur describing it doesn't sound like herpes. In my experience the 1st outbreak started as what look like a pimple on the outer labia, but it itched like crazy, then broke and scabbed. (gross I know :( Don't freak out just yet, but please get to the doc. you could be worrying for nothing.
A PERMANENT inconvenient skin condition, associated with a fair amount of pain and discomfot (though less so after the initial outbreak), with no cure that can be spread to other people regardless of protection and regardless of whether you are currently experiencing a flare up. It can also be spread to children during child birth and the liklihood of this occuring will vary depending on whether the mother is having an outbreak or not.
Yes, it is NOT the end of the world. But it is also NOT something to treat casually and go about your business as if there is nothing wrong other than an "inconvenient skin condition."
