Sexual Assault Community Group
Women and men around the world are getting sexually assaulted everyday. This will be a friendly place for victims talk about what has happened to them.

I was around ten years old when it happened to me. I was visiting my mom with my siblings and my mom hired a babysitter to watch over us so that she could go to work during nights. This guy had great reviews online and from locals in the town, so he was an obvious choice. He watched over us for weeks, no problems occurred.
My mom had a day off and wanted to a concert so she of course hired him. The night went on as usual: we had dinner, us kids took a bath, and we all cuddled on the couch to watch a movie.
Everything seemed fine until I felt his hand slide up my thigh into my shorts. Another hand soon ran up my shirt then he asked me smoothly, “Are you okay?”
Scared, I shook my head and let him touch me for the entire movie, trying not to cry in front of my siblings.
Later that night, he told my siblings to go to bed and said that I could stay up. Afraid of what he’d do to my other siblings if I did not obey, I obliged.
I sat on the couch opposite from him with my knees curled as his eyes moved up my body. He then slowly walked up to me and got on his knees. As he spread my legs, he told me that I was going to be alright and removed my pants; Loosing his buckle as he did such.
He took pictures of my body then began to preform oral sex on me.
I couldn’t take it anymore, I had to leave him before he finished removing his buckle and did something worse to me.
I pushed him off and ran to my room, locking it.
My siblings and I listened to a Bob Marley CD while we slept, so when I walked in to the room “Redemption Song” was playing. Someone must of put it on repeat because it kept playing and playing as I cried myself to sleep.
The next morning, my mom made us breakfast while he slept in the other room.
It wasn’t until around noon that I had the guts to tell her; I didn’t want her to lose her job because she didn’t have a babysitter.
When I told her, she kicked him out of the house and called the police.
The next day, I went to a hospital to be examined and he was caught the same day. He was put in jail for around four years and was let out last June.
It’s been almost five years and I still can not listen to “Redemption Song” without freezing up, shaking and having flashbacks.
