i was molested by my father when i was 6. I told the police/made a police report, and then, afterwards, the cop that took the report apparently called both my parent abusers up and told them what i'd said. :( my mother told me this...isn't this illegal somehow? what should i do about a bad cop? make an anonymous online report maybe? i think i'm too scared to do anything else...why would this happen????

I am not sure where you are located but I do believe that in most states in the U.S. there is an obligation (perhaps a law) that says that child services needs to be called. Also depends on your age as well. If you are a minor when making the report it needs to be investigated by the police/child services. Even teachers who suspect abuse have an obligation (again, perhaps a law) to call child services.
If you were a minor making this report....the cop should have called child services immediately. The safety of the child always comes first.
It was really brave of you to report your father for what he did. I'm so sorry that you were betrayed by that policeman. I hope someone more knowledgeable than me will answer this post.
