I am in a similar situation - I've been married 25 years to someone who comes from a loving, supportive family, is very socially and professionally successful, and is not introspective at all. But of course his family was not perfect, he too has wounds from childhood, because everyone does.
But such people will find it hard to understand the daily struggles of someone like you or me who is dealing with fallout and fighting for stability every day.
What I do is a) see a therapist and b) get support from my friendships on DS and my one sister who understands. With my husband, I give him the big picture story but don't share everything because believe me, he would not be intersted. He is like many men in that he doesn't want to hear about a problem unless he can fix it. I have had to teach him over the years that all I need from him is someone to listen and care. That it's actually good if I cry and he shouldn't try to make me stop! And so on.
I hope this addressed what you were asking.
