Still living the person who hurt me

Recently this past year I've had memories surface from when I was a child of my older sibling sexually abusing me. Its been scary but ive been able to push them aside and pretend that they dont exist until recently. This person has come back home, because their college is closed because of the corona virus. Now I'm having trouble pushing the memories aside, and I feel very scared of this person. I dont feel that they would harm me again in that way but they do mentally abuse me fairly often. Also its just hard seeing them because of the memories. I dont completely blame them because maybe they didnt know what they were doing since they were only a couple of years older then me. I was (6-8) cant remember exact times. I just dont know how to cope with them being here. Any suggestions?

I'm dealing with the same situation. I find myself spending most of my time holed up in my room, and sometimes I lock the door if I really just don't want to deal with them. For me, finding my anger at them has helped a lot, because it kind of pushes out the self blame. Of course, every situation is a little different. I also confide in friends and online support groups.

My situation is kind of like that, but the abuse is still happening. I operate on autopilot most of the time and compartmentalize everything so I don't think about the abuse while i'm sitting there looking at him eating dinner.

i do what Piece does and compartmentalize but i call it a box. sometimes its easier to shut down and not feel or think because feeling and thinking will lead to things that are better not done.
try music or getting out of ur house. wander around town and stay away from people as much as you can.
