Hi everyone, I am a 16 year old girl and i was sexually abused by my father for most of my childhood (about 6 or 7 till around 13) and in the last month i just finally was able to start telling people about it. i told my mom about a week ago and i just told my aunt and grandma today. everyone has been very loving and supportive and wanting to helpĀ me. but still, telling people about my abuse has been a lot like re-living it over and over again and it's been really stressful, so i am reaching out for a community of people who understand my pain and hoping to find some relief in talking to other survivors.

I think it is wonderful that your family is supporting you with this. Has anyone mentioned getting you into therapy so you can heal? Going to therapy is key to fully healing. You can heal and you deserve to heal. The sooner you start working with a therapist the sooner you will be healed.
I was in a similar situation to you, not too long ago, when I was 14. I had to open up to my mom that her friend had molested me when I was 12 and 13. I understand it's not easy to face, but if you get support and get a good therapist you can start the healing process. I'm glad that you have a supportive family, that really makes a difference.
