Why do you not want to see a counsellor?
I avoided one for years and regret it because my marriage could be so much better now. At this point my wife and I are teetering on the edge - I've started therapy & we realize that many of what we thought were "her" issues are really "my" issues that I've been masking or denying.
My reasons for avoiding therapy were dispelled once I actually started - so I deeply regret having not gone sooner.
If your family knows and your dad still does not control himself he needs help - even if it requires the police to force him to take it (sorry if it hurts, but he does not have the right to hurt other people).
That's coming from the heart - it sounds as though you really could use someone who knows what to do in your corner.
