Sexual Abuse Support Group
Sexual abuse is a relative cultural term used to describe sexual relations and behavior between two or more parties which are considered criminally and/or morally offensive. Different types of sexual abuse involve: Non-consensual, forced physical sexual behavior such as rape, incest or sexual assault, or psychological forms of abuse, such as verbal sexual behavior or...
I was in a sexually abusive relationship from 13 until I was 16.
I finally ended it, but agreed to keep in contact via messages(Hard to cut off three years of your life)- The guy continued to ask if we could hang out. For months I told him no and begged him to stop asking. He showed up at my school bus stop anyways.
That was when I officially cut off contact. It was the best thing I had done. I was finally on my way to finding my new normal.
About two months back he "accidentally" called me and "accidentally" texted me without a day in-between. I sent a very long and very clear message telling him to leave me alone. --- MAJOR set back in my journey forward.
I blocked his number and all social media accounts.
I joine daily strength. Found my way back to my path foward a lot quicker than I thought.
I was confident he was out of my life. So confident that any time I suspected him I could calmly tell myself it was just my anxiety and move on.
Recently, October 28, I got a text from an unknown number. When I asked who it was they gave a reference to a show, one that was shared between a friend and I. For three days I shared insights into my life; my college courses, my new friends, the house I'm moving into, what my new bedroom will look like, etc. At one point I was concerned that maybe this wasn't said friend, in fact the exact words I said to another friend was "I feel like I'm texting a someone who has a crush on me". They agreed it was probably just my anxiety, but for my sake, I took a break from responding for a day.
The next day they messaged me asking if I was sure I knew who I was talking to... They then tormented me for an entire day, refusing to tell me who they were, and lying about details/hints. I started to suspect my ex, but again I put that off to my anxiety- its just a friend trying to have fun. My anxiety increased as the day went on. Within these messages he made comments like “I accept bribes” and “do you deserve a hint”.
He lied to me to confuse me on who I was talking to- acted like he didn’t know if I had more than one ex, said we hadn’t talked in almost a year, and at the end even directly lied about who he is “Kevin Taylor, remember me?” ( I never knew a Kevin). I directly told him it was making me anxious the first time the response was “but where’s my fun, for all I know we might never talk again”- the second time he said “Everything gives you anxiety”. “Who wouldn't message you on their old # unless they just wanted to mess with you”. He went so far as to add “How many[people] would you never want to talk to again”
At the point where he calimed to be "Kevin Taylor" I knew it was him, though I had been denial for the last hour of the conversation. I responded that I did remember him, that I remembered him as the sexual predator who sexually abused me. He then claimed all he wanted to do was check on me and make sure I was okay, that he wants me "gone from him" but he had to atleast know Im doing better. and then he turned the conversation around and asked me why I talk about him like that, that he never said anything bad about me, etc. I told reiterated what he did to me and he first claimed he was a kid and made mistakes and then claimed he never did any of it.
I just don't know how I am supposed to move on from this. Every time I think I'm safe or free from him he finds a way to rip me open again.
He sexually abused me. He showed up my bus stop despite me telling him I never wanted to see him again. He continued to call and text despite me telling him to leave me alone. When I block his number he messages me from another number, pretends to be someone else, and finds out all kinds of information about me that he had no right to. -- Even before this I had fears of running into him(I now live six and half hours away), I could tell myself I was being irrational and go along with my day, but how am I susposed to do that now? How am I supposed to believe he wouldn't do something like that when I have been proven wrong so many times before?
How am I supposed to move forward knowing he now knows about every piece of my new life that makes me happy?
I don't know how to start over again when I honestly can't know what he is going to do next...
Any advice would be nice...

Upon his departure, he remarked, "I am in many people’s pockets; no one will believe you." Have you ever grappled with the silence that follows sexual assault, where the perceived impossibility of being believed necessitates self-censorship?

Going forward, please don't respond to calls or messages from any number you don't already know belongs to someone you know or trust.
And if you do somehow hear from him again, don't engage with him at all. No conversation, no matter what provocative thing he says. Don't give him anything to work with - be boringly predictable in having nothing to say. Try to make it less "fun" to mess with you.
I think you will feel safer when you have put in place measures to ensure he can't get to you again, including a certain amount of cynicism or skepticism that you haven't applied up to now. Also, if you are able to take up martial arts of some kind, I think that would enhance your sense of power and confidence.
If you dont want to leave where you are, get a restraining order on him and still change your number.
He's trying to corner you to make you feel like you need him, and you do not need him. So let him know, and avoid him at all costs.
Changing my number is also difficult as I dont pay the bill/am not in control of that.
Im going to talk to someone about a restraining order tomorrow, but Im afraid I dont have enough cause(though I dont know what exactly I need).
Its so frustrating knowing hes still breaking into my life like this.
