Sexual Abuse Support Group
Sexual abuse is a relative cultural term used to describe sexual relations and behavior between two or more parties which are considered criminally and/or morally offensive. It has been over a year. I was feeling good for the first time in a long time. I had no nightmares. Was sleeping through the night. Had days where I didnt think about him/it at all. Was thinking about future relationships. I was doing so good.
My abuser contacted me twice last week(claimed both were accidental), though the contact was extremely brief- a call followed by an apology text "wrong person" in which I responded "its fine" and then asking me if I wanted to talk the next night(via text) in which I sent a long message saying no and asking him to leave me alone, he of course claimed the text was for someone else.
Since this incident I feel like I just left him. I've had nightmares on three different nights(though I can't sleep through the night even without the nightmares). Thoughts very intrusively enter my mind multiple times a day, distracts me from my tasks. I can't think of future relationships without thinking of him. I can't even look at guys without thinking they look like him(even if they actually dont). I can't walk down the street without being scared that I'm going to run into him despite being in an entirely different state than he is.
I just don't know to deal with this. I don't remember how I got past all this the first time, but I do know it took SO long. I wasn't fully healed, I was just getting to the point where I could think about it and try to work things without feeling entirely nauseous. Now I feel neauseous nearly all the time again.
Does anyone have any experience or advice with recovery regression?

Upon his departure, he remarked, "I am in many people’s pockets; no one will believe you." Have you ever grappled with the silence that follows sexual assault, where the perceived impossibility of being believed necessitates self-censorship?

@hope719 Thank you, I will try using more grounding techniques, I never considered using them in this situation(I have used them when dealing with my anxiety disorder).
