Okay...whore is a word that many of our abusers have called us. I may have been called it; I just honestly don't know-most of what happened to me still isn't back yet.
I certainly felt I prostituted myself for attention for a long time.

I have/had a friend on another site who I've not been to in a bit...she is a very kind, smart, wonderful person...has been through being pimped, being a streetwalker and still makes money as a sex worker, although she is also in college and is trying to get out of that.
No, I don't think the majority of us are or were whores, that was just something our abusers said to make us feel worthless.
However, those of us who actually have been prostitutes or maybe are still...
For them, I wanted to say that the act of having sex for money does not somehow render one a worthless person. Either at the time or after the fact.
All of us are good, all of us have value, all of us were put here to shine light into the world, no matter what someone's done to us, no matter how we survived.

As both a survivor of childhood sexual abuse an the loved one of someone who falsely accused (for revenge purposes)
I am seeing just how bloated and completely unhelpful the registry has become. Even John Walsh and Patty Wetterling are against the registry in the form it is now.
I just can't imagine having gone through abuse and all trying to go to college and overcome, only to be caught up in the crazyiness of the laws as they stand now.
Some get their jollies off by degrading victims with those words.
You certainly have no judgement from my part, and you deserve as much consideration and respect as anyone else.
Something I have learned as a survivor of so much abuse is not judge others and jump into conclusions about people. I never know people's stories, circumstances and struggles.
I have had sex with lots of random people at one point in my life, I was just doing it for attention.
So I would certainly qualify as an ex-slut.
But I don't know what I might do to survive either, and I am not going to judge others for what they do.
I just have an online friend who still is, and have met others who have in the past, including some on this board.
There are others who were told they were whores by their abusers, and I...guess I hate that that word has such a power to keep on degrading the innocent victims of assault, long after the assault itself has ended. That that word...whore...should mean one is worthless, or that one wanted to be raped...
I wish I could take the power out of that word to hurt the people I meet on here and elsewhere. Abuse survivors like me.
I tend to instinctively care about them. I don't want them running around with those venomous words eating at them.
