John 14:27
Peace
I am very sorry for all you have been through. I have very similar memories as what you describe here. I do not remember the face of the man who abused me, I only remember his house. It is so hard when your body is telling you something happened but your mind has not revealed the memory yet. As hard as it is the memory will bring on feelings that must be felt so you can heal. Allow yourself to cry the tears and release the anger and you will heal.
As far as pressing charges...it differs by state. Where I live I can press charges until the day he dies because he abused me as a child prior to the age of 16. You can do some research online or call a lawyer to find out if there is statute of limitation in your state. Just remember, when you press charges it will be up to you to try to prove his guilt and that may not be easy after so much time has passed. And if you are still in the process of healing it could be a very traumatic process for you. I am not saying you should not do it just please consider how traumatic it may be for you.
Take care
