I can have a panic attact at any time and I am not on any drugs...So I just wanted to know what I can do to carm me down...When I get these I shake but you can't see it and I feel like someone is chocking me..I just want to run away and hide or kill myself...I don't want to take drugs I never did before my ex parents her me and now I am off them I don't ever want to take them ever again..Please someone help me...

My panic attacks result in hyperventilation. The best thing for me...is to escape my current situation and calm down.

I can feel winded and start feeling hyperventilation at any time...and though it's hard for me to always remove myself physically...I've resolved to removing myself mentally. Close my eyes and find my happy place. *hugs*

i have panic attacks to..and i am not on amy meds..what helps me is to just to concentrate (and this difficult for me but i do it) on my breathing...taking slow deep normal breaths in and out and i just keep my focus on that..It is very difficut i know when you are in the middle of an attack.but if you can just keep bringing your thought and awarness back to your breathing... i hope this helps ....hugs

Your breathing is a key component of a panic attack. I have always found it helpful to breathe like this...
Deep breath in through your nose to the count of ten... now release through your mouth the same way... think of it like an elevator...slowly in through your nose and out through your mouth...hope this helps

I hate to admit it, but I had Panic Attacks a long time ago. I know you are against the idea of medication, but sometimes it helps. And Medication and counseling will help. I was put on Xanax, a small dose to help me deal with mine. And eventuality, I was weaned off and now I have been Panic free for 15 years. Please send me a message if you ever need to talk about it. panic can happen any where for me what helps me is find a seat and tell myself to breathe in, breathe out, it takes awhile but it helps to stop the pain in my throat and slows the heart rate down, i hope this helps
