I too was VERY discouraged about going to therapy again, but after talking with a close friend of mine and a few others about it I realize that not all therapists are cut out for their jobs...but there are many that are amazing. So I'll tell you what. I'll give it another go if you do! Just find a different therapist!
This makes me fume!!!!! I'm so sorry you were hurt by someone who was supposed to make you feel better. He's broken the first rule of therapy: do no harm.

When he asked if I wanted to speak with a woman "regarding these issues" because "maybe you'd be more comfortable" I asked him if he was uncomfortable and he said, "NO!" But I guess he is.
I appreciate your words and encouragement to find a different therapist. I will ... but I think I might take some time off first.
All this guy has managed to do is stir up a bunch of PTSD symptoms and then says, "let's focus on your career."
I'm ready to shoot myself in the head and he wants to talk about job opportunities!!??

I am a strong advocate of being direct with your counselor. If something strikes youd wrong then I would put the question to them directly. you may be surprised.
If you are not happy with his methods or comments then try someone who you feel more confident with.
You need a therapist that deals with only sexual abuse, check with the womans shelter, they have therapist that will see you!
I saw one at a womans shelter and she was great! Give it a try, promise it will be different, They are trained to treat sexual abuse.

i've yet to have a T that i see on a regular basis be able to help me. they've told me they don't know how to handle me and that they don't know anyone who does.
some people really shouldn't be in this profession.
