My therapist

My therapist found a new job. Good for her,sucks for me. The therapist left is an older male...at a rape advocasy center. She says it might be a good thing for me, to help me with trust building. It just breaks my spirit a little bit . I trusted her. And she quits. Damn it all to hell. I meet him this thursday. I hope this works. Im frustrated.help.

It is hard when a therapy relationship is broken like that. I do hope things work well for you with the new one.

I lost a good counsellor once for similar reasons and felt what you are feeling. Just give it a chance and you may find this fellow may help you even more. Hope this helps and hang in there, Blaine

I am glad you too the chance to experience a new counselor, especially a male. I was once the ONLY male therapist at a Women's Center and whereas the clients always went to a woman therapist first, eventually many were reassigned to me. Most said it did help them to understand that not ALL men were interested in sex or manipulating them and it was a positive experience for them.
Again, I am glad you had a positive "first meeting" with him - hope he brings new perspectives to you healing!!

That;s fucking weird that they only have a male therapist at a rape advocacy center. That makes no sense. And that's really rude that she left like that. When my therapist left she let me go with her to her new place.
