Hi I'm hunter I am 16 and a female almost 6 months ago I was sexually abused by my stepdad he got drunk and started inappropriately touching me I ran out of the room to my stepbrothers room and woke him up told him what happened and he was shocked of course I was too we went to my room and I just layed in my bed crying for what felt like a life time my stepbrother sat there comforting me both of us not really knowing what to do there was a knock on my door it was my step dad coming to apologize and find out if I was okay I couldn't speak I felt disgusting the worst part of it all was I was in my moms bed she was asleep next to me when it all happened I tried to wake her up but I couldn't so I ran nothing ever happened he still lives with us and I have to see him everyday but I will never see him the same way....
Have you told your mom? Are you afraid to tell her? I imagine it will be very painful for both of you if you do, but this is not something that can be swept under the rug. If you don't feel comfortable talking to your mom maybe you could start by talking to a counselor at school or a trusted teacher or other trusted adult. You should not be left to handle this on your own.
I think your stepbrother may also be very troubled by this and would benefit from talking to someone.
