My Story

Hello everyone! My name is MarKae’ and I just wanted to share some of my story today. Back in 2017 while away at college I was sexually assaulted twice. It broke me emotionally and spiritually. I didn’t care about whether I lived or died, I struggled with heavy depression and anxiety, and I also searched for love in different things that didn’t help me in any way. On Sunday October 21, 2018 I almost ended my life and had planned to crash my car; BUT for some reason I ended up not committing suicide that day. The very next day I had lost a friend to sucide and this was a definite wake up call for me. I saw the impact grief had on those around me and I realized I did not want this for me. I started seeking help and seeking God again, and through it all God allowed me to be able to overcome my experiences.I now aim to help those who have experienced sexual assault become the best versions of themselves and achieve wholeness and healing through God.  I just wanted to share in order to encourage anyone who may be going through what I went through. I’m a living witness that there is light at the end of the tunnel. You are more than a survivor, you are a conqueror; and YOU matter. Hello Markae welcome. Faith is a very powerful thing. When i was twelve i was abducted at gun point. I went missing for almost 4 months. It was My faith that kept me going. Just like you i would be rather dead the to keep on going through that. I know it will always be with me. And now my mission in life is a lot like your. To encourage others the have experience what i went through. Life is precious and short to throw away. Never give up hope.

Praise God im glad that He helped you and your healing so wonderful . Iv received alot of healing and I'm only alive by the grace of God . I still have a lot of healing to go but for therapy Emdr therapy has been the best iv ever had . I'm really struggling right now so I joined this group just now actually. My sexual abuse started at 5 till 15 or 16 by 6 abusers over that time it's I have cptsd I hate it so I'm 39 and never been in a relationship before im terrified of sex as you can see 39 it's not just a little fear it obviously has control over my life sadly . Iv lost hope in that area to be able to have a Godly relationship . I had dreams at one time to be with a man of God that wants to travel the world to bring love and hope to others ...... .

Hello! I am so glad you are still here, and that you have received a lot of healing. I know you are discouraged right now and that your dreams and hopes are lost because of what happened to you, and I am so sorry you went through that trauma! But you are amazing, you're still here and I know that God can restore your hopes and dreams of being in a Godly relationship and any other dreams you may have had. I'm praying for you girl!
