my mother won't help me

when i told my mother my brother sexually abused me she freaked out. she wanted him out of the house. she was really good at first. took me to this hospital where they examined me and interviewed me and that stuff. but ever since the day she asked me if it really happend she's just cared more about him. i asked her to get me a counsoler and she looked at me like i was reatarted. she asked me what for and i told her that i need to talk to someoen about what happend, and she said that i had her. but it's just not the same ya know. she told me to talk to my brother and work it out ourselves. she never got me one. so two months later i went back and she finaly did but she was pissed about it. i saw my counsoler 5 times and i never went back, mainly bc i was 15 and school was starting and she couldnt' bring me up to seen her. i resently asked her and i even had the school counsoler giver me names and phone numbers but she never called them. she know's about my suicial thoughts and cutting but she wont' get me a counsoler and it's making me mad i dont knwo what to do.

Can you go through the school and talk to someone that way? They might be able to bring someone in at least once to talk to you. If it is really bad, you can call the state and tell them what's going on and tell them she's refusing to let you see a counselor and they might be able to force her to. If you still are getting along and want to stay in the house, don't call the state, though, bc they will probably pull you out of the house. Is there another family member that could help you see a counselor? MAybe you could even tell your mom that you are desparate and will call the state if she won't help you. Good luck- keep us posted. Hopefuly someone else has a better idea than caling the state...

Some schools will help you get out side help if the school counselors cant help. Most of the time it is free and sometimes the counselor will come to the school so you dont have to have transportation. The only down fall is school is required by law to allert the police and cps(or a similar agency) to the situation because you are not in a safe environment.

I agree with inrecovery. I would seek out a guidance counselor at school. Maybe you could check the phone book and call up a clinic that could guide you in the right direction. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I wish I were near you so I could help you find the help you need so you aren't alone.

thank you all, its' really helped. i've talked to my counsoler before but i guess i've never really asked her to help and she's never offered to help. lol i wish i had people like you guy's around here. no one really understands except one. but thank you again.
