1) make truth that you don't have to hide
2) deal with unpleasant truth by getting it out into the light, not fun, very messy, has unintended consequences these can be good and bad
hiding unpleasant truth only gives it more sinister power, this power will eat away at you and diminish yours.
say you keep this secret, would you warn any of your other friends not sleep over as you had?
if you don't and someone else gets abused, would that bother you? if so, your strength will diminish further
see, dealing with it is messy and ugly, not dealing with it is messy and ugly
dealing with truth gives one strength, even if they don't realize, hiding truth always sucks life out of those that hide it (life can be strength or for someone like the abusive brother, their soul)
i apologize for not expressing sympathy and compassion.
your situation hits very close to the bone for me.
my beloved ones (yes, that is plural, yes there are a lot of monsters that prey upon the innocent in this world) that dealt with being sexually abused tend to be very matter of fact
i think this helps them see the events objectively which helps them see that they bear no blame & no shame
i hope that you come to have the same understanding
please forgive my directness
