I'm so sorry for what you're going through. Have you told anyone besides your friends what happened? If you are in school you should probably tell a school counselor or administrator. Maybe they can arrange things so you don't have to see that person all the time. A police report might be called for as well. Even if it doesn't lead to a conviction at least you'll be acknowledging that a crime was committed. But if you don't feel up to it that's alright.

As for your friends, it really stinks that they don't believe and support you. Sometimes people deny the reality of rape because they don't want to confront their own vulnerability. It stinks big time.

You definitely need support at this time. I hope you can find some resources through your school. Therapy or counseling of some kind is your best bet for recovering from this terrible experience. And of course you are welcome to keep on sharing with us here. We believe and support you!

I was forced to do things that I really did not want to do. I am afraid of being intimate with my boyfriend because I keep getting flashbacks which cause panic attacks. My friends reacted the same way, and instead they just spread rumors about how I was a slut. It got bad to the point where I had to leave the school. I was getting sexually harrassed at school by stupid jocks all the time. I tried going to professionals but they didn't help at all. This just added to my list of problems in my life. All I can say is stay strong and find someone you trust, and let it all out to that person. If you think he's going to assault someone else, you should report him so no one else experiences the same horrible thing as you. I support you all the way:)

Public801, I'm so sorry the "professionals" didn't help you and added to your problems in life. Some so-called professionals are incompetent and destructive. But I hope someday you will be able to find professional help that is skillful and respectful, because it's very hard to heal on your own. There are caring and skillful professionals out there but we don't always find them at our first try.

Thank you so much Donnawanda, LuckyEmpath and Public801. It wasn't easy to share this but know that I know that people believe me and are helping me I feel better about myself. When I told my friends and teacher what happened and they didn't continue with the case I thought I was worthless.
I told a counselor but I don't think he will do anything because the guy that did this to me is a kid to one of the teachers here...

I was sexually abused my someone that was supposed to be my friend. I see him all the time and is difficult sometimes. I never really told anyone other than my husband and thankfully he was very understanding and is helping me get him out of my life. I felt like no one would understand and would react the same way your "friends" did. Every day I can spend away from him is such a relief. I would suggest just trying to find some time to love yourself. Do something that's just for you and plan your day so that he is not in it. It's amazing how just a day away can change your perspective sometimes. If you can slowly work him out of your life, do it. You will have a hard time healing until you can separate yourself from him.

First, when Mrs. Stockholm says that she "sees" him. She actually means that she is pretending to have a relationship with him and hanging out with him. By what I'm reading, it sounds like you just view your ex everyday and not hang out, right?

I have to hang out with him because we have the same class and group projects and the same friends....
