Hi. I'm new to this support group but I'm really familiar with DS. I've been using the PTSD support group for some time and it's been really helpful but I also feel like I have a lot going on in my head specific to being sexually abused and so.. here I am.
I made the decision to finally join the group because more and more I'm noticing that my reaction to sexual jokes, innuendos, comments, etc., is becoming more pronounced. Rather than just a negative thought, I feel like.. a physical disgust, sort of. A physical sensation that I recoil from every time.
It's been really bothering me. Especially because that's a lot of the humor that my friends use. There's nothing wrong with that, I guess.. just bad for me. It's getting hard to even want to socialize because it's ALWAYS there.

I agree that it is very difficult to listen to people make sexual jokes etc. I fortunately have a group of friends who are not like that and they all know what I went through as a child so they are very considerate of that.
Are you working with a therapist?
