Please give yourself the time you need to ask the question. Some of the issues arising from this journey can be extremely embarrassing. To make things more difficult many of us carry around emotions like guilt, shame that dont belong to us but somehow we get tied to them. Give yourself the time to ask the question rather than feeling like you have to come out and ask straight away

I agree entirely with tyzz, you need to take your time. When it is ready, it will come out and you can ask the questions you want., and we will be here to support you.

thank you! umm i was wondering...do any of you when u have to talk about it feel like since its coming out of ur mouth u had control over it and it was like a story to tell...idkkk :\ idk if thats what i want to ask..ill just write what i feel.

last yr when i was in therapy annd it came time that i had to talk about it, i wrote it down and so i was reading it like the person wasnt me and kept going until i was finished and stopped myself from feeling anything and when i was done i felt like if i could talk about it like this then why couldnt i have said something earlier.....sorry i know im not making much sense

itzjustme I have found a great tool, is writing. What you are experiencing is disassociation, like it has happened to someone else and you are just telling their story. I disassociated for 45 years, so I know what you are talking about. It is very powerful to be able to talk about it, without too much uhm, personal feelings. The more you are able to get out, bit by bit, even if by writing it down, you begin to see that you are not at fault or should feel guilt, you were the victim, and most abuse is about POWER. The power someone has over you to do these things. It is not weakness on your part at all. I hope that makes some sense, I am lucky I can now talk about my experiences and try to help others in the same boat. If you feel like a chat anytime, give me a hoy.

All I can tell you is it will come out when it comes out....for many it is easier to write it and it feels more like a story that your emotionally disconnected from...it's not something you can force....you'll be ready when your ready and not one moment before. Don't worry or stress over it....you're doing the best your able. Eventually the words will come out of your mouth and be connected to the emotion behind it but your just not there yet. Trust yourself ....there is no set time table...each goes at their own pace...it will come. Until then just allow yourself to be where you are...and move forward at the pace you can handle/
