This thought just came to me..
When this guy tried to force himself on me, I was able to fight him off. If I wasn't strong enough, he would of been able to fully.. do what he intended.

That is so nasty, scary and awful..

Being single, going out in a variety of settings doesn't make me feel safe.

I know how to be cautious. I know about safety tips.

I am not always comfortable when guys approach me, even if it's in a safe place in public. Sometimes, I feel fine. Other times, I don't like it and feel uncertain.

As you continue to heal all parts of you, you will feel safe everywhere and in every situation. As you near the end of your healing process a strength takes over that helps you know that 'no one will EVER hurt me again'. It's a very powerful feeling.

Great job fighting him off! I wish I had been able to do that when I was raped. I could now that's for sure.

Would you feel safer if you were with someone you know in these situations? Do you mean approach as in "walking near" or approach as in "Hi, I saw you and knew I had to meet you"?

If I feel a guy is just having an innocent conversation with me without be attracted to me or hitting on me, I'm ok.
If I feel a guy is interested or looks at me in a sexual way, I don't like it, I get mad.

I would not like it if a guy said, Hi, I saw you and thought I would like to get to know you... If a guy says hi, it depends on how he looks. If he looks innocent and just walking by, if he looks at my butt or something and his look lingers.. Then I don't like it.

When you get this worked up and anxious about a situation you are talking about it is because it's a 'trigger' and we have triggers to show us that there is unprocessed feelings there. Try to get in touch with the feeling and work to release it. If you want to cry, cry. If you are angry scream and yell and punch a pillow. Get the feeling out and the trigger will eventually go away.
