Even as an adult - if I express my feelings about an abusive situation, I feel as though I am not going to be belived. I get confused, defensive and frightened when an abusive situation occurs in my life and reporting anthing to the proper parties, authorities, etc. is almost impossible for me.
I think this is one of the areas that the sexual abuse has affected me the most. I always feel like people will think I am either exaggerating or lying - or crazy and what I say will not be believed or taken seriously.
I'd like to know if anyone else feels that way - that it is never acceptable to complain, even as an adult. Thanks.

I rang an emergency number for someone last night, i couldn't express myself, i was comfused, afraid and feared they would ask too many questions and would they believe me.
I slept 45 minutes last night, that was my sleep for the night, just from this turmoil that lives in me.
It is easier to complain in my head to vent my anger within, but not to let it out.
