No matter what I do to try and better myself, my family will always be negative. They don't truly support me and my choices. They don't care to listen to me or my problems. I'm sick of it. I have tried for 2 years now to really open up and talk to them about what happened to me because they said they wanted me to, but when i do try to talk, i get negativity or they don't listen at all. Why? How? Will it ever change? The only people who support me and listen are literally anyone besides my family. I'm sick of it. They make me feel worse about staying in an abusive relationship even though i only stayed to protect them. They make me feel dumb and inferior. I don't know how much longer I can live my life like i'm nothing to the people who mean the most to me, or used to anyway.

Sadly, the lesson I had to learn in the end with my own parents was that they wouldn't change and I had to give up trying. I don't know if this will be the case for you, I just want to let you know that sometimes, boundaries are the best thing we can have, even with our own family.
I hear and can relate to your wish that they understand you. But from what you say, there are other people supporting you besides your family. I know, I guess we all want that understanding from our family, but sometimes they just won't understand. And it's best to focus on the people who do.
