First it was by my father... All my friends left when they heard guess word travels pretty fast

Upon his departure, he remarked, "I am in many people’s pockets; no one will believe you." Have you ever grappled with the silence that follows sexual assault, where the perceived impossibility of being believed necessitates self-censorship?

Cutting definitely is not about getting attention. Any good therapist will explain to anyone who thinks that that cutting is about feeling - just as you said. When people cut they want to feel a physical pain to help keep them away from the emotional torture going on inside of them. I am glad you can see and understand this. I hope you will get the help you need so you can heal and so you can stop cutting. You can heal and you deserve to heal but it does take a lot of work. You can do it! (Hugs)
