please don't feel that way. it is helpful to talk about it. it helps get the feelings out. they say that anger turned inward becomes depression. It is ok to be angry. I am here if you want to talk.

What's NOT normal is that your father made it (sexual abuse?) happen. What IS normal is that you would be profoundly injured by that and that you would go back and forth between hating and loving your father. You ARE normal because your reactions to what happened are completely normal. It's good that you've come here where you can share with other survivors and find out that your reactions are normal, and that you can heal.

I really suggest you look for a therapist to talk these matters through. You must have many confused feelings and it's probably just too much to process by yourself. I found a therapist by calling the hotline at RAINN.org. Even though the abuse I was calling about had happened decades earlier, they were extremely kind and found me a therapist right away. Meanwhile, please feel free to post as much as you like if you find it helpful.

Upon his departure, he remarked, "I am in many people’s pockets; no one will believe you." Have you ever grappled with the silence that follows sexual assault, where the perceived impossibility of being believed necessitates self-censorship?
