I'm here if you would like talk.
Parents are less predictable. Having support from your immediate family is the best support you can have, but if she allows her feelings to "take over" and tries to direct you instead of support you then it becomes more difficult.
Good luck
SA is not ever our fault. Perps are sick people. They are wrong and bad. We are not. And should not feel as such. Easier said than done...but believe it or not...doable. Key is believing...you are not at fault, you can do it, you are worthy!
I believe in me, took me a loong while but I got there and I believe in you too.
but i at least realized last night that they are pathetic people who can't get sex without forcing it on people. and that makes them losers.
i'm just worried what other people would think because i get judged for everything, so what would make this any different? like i used to cut and instead of my friends caring, they would call me emo and laugh about it. my boyfriend cared, but everyone else thought i was just stupid. so i'm scared to tell other people. but i'm going to try to tell my therapist when i see her on wednesday.
but all of you seem really nice.
i have one good friend that i might tell. i told everyone about the emotional abuse because that was easier for me to talk about.
i think i'm scared to tell my parents because they are really really christian and i'm worried that they will think i'm a slut or something.
i just wanted to let you know that I have been seeing a counselor for over a year and I just told her about being sexual abused two months ago. She was very understanding as to why I held back for so long. I wasn't ready and was scared that I would be judged. I also think that I wasn't ready to deal with what happened because it's too painful. However, I am just sick of living with it and how it has effected my life in so many negative ways, so it was time. I hope that you were able to talk to her and I hope she didn't make you feel bad for doing so. I just found this website today and I am so glad. It's good to know that I am not alone.
I was in therapy for three years before I whispered I was sexually abused.
The only time frame to honor is your own. When you feel safe and ready to talk then you know the time's right.
As far as telling other people, your past is no ones business but your own and those trusty-worthy people you choose to tell.
Concentrate on learning to trust yourself; when that's in place you will have an infallible guidance system when it comes to knowing whether or not you can trust others.
