How to handle the situation

I was raped. I don't want to go to the police, and I don't want my parents to find out. But I don't know how to move on with my life. I don't know how to cope. Please give advice.

You need to see a victims advocate. Every county has this free service available.

And get into therapy,what is your reason for not telling? This was not your fault and you should bear no guilt!

I'm so sorry for what you've been through and are going through.

I know, telling this is very hard. But keeping the secret is hard as well. Is there anyone you trust and could tell? I'm with hopefulmama, I couldn't process this and move on without a therapist's help.

thank you to everyone who gave advice. I did tell my mom and the police. They are looking into prosecution. I'm just scared. I don't want to have to deal with everything that comes with this sort of thing. Doctor's appointments, police interviews, trials. It's just a lot. Have any of you been through the same thing?

I felt the same way after I was raped over 30 years ago. I wish I would have told the police and my parents at the time but didn't. My rapist drugged the beer he "served" me and hung around me till I passed out and he carried me out of the party to his apartment nearby. He then raped me on the floor of his bedroom. I don't remember much except crying and yelling no and stop to him while he was raping me. I woke up next to him in his loft bed. I was sore and bruised all over my body. I felt shame and blame for years after. I still have bad feelings regarding it. You are strong and can get through this. You did the right thing by informing the police and prosecution. I am sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.
