Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Independence Day and glad for a beautiful Day. Rode bikes with my kids and had a water gun fight and having a great time eating barbecued ribs and watching fireworks. I thank God for our freedom and thank God for all he has done in my life and what he is gonna do. I am having a great day. My hubby aired up the tires on my bike and I rode it for the first time around. It felt great. Hope everyones July 4th is blessed and Happy! Let me know how you spent your holiday if you want I would love to hear it. Whether good or not so good. :) I have had flashbacks today but not letting them get me down. Lots of Prayers and Hugs to Everyone .

This is a hard one for me - my Mom passed in February and she LOVED fireworks - the colors and the way the loud booms made the little kids squeal and laugh. Indianapolis is shooting their display off as I write this and my partner had wanted to go downtown to see them, but we both laid down to rest earlier and he (nor I) wanted to get up in time to go, get the parking space, deal with the crowds, etc, But I can hear them and if you look between a clearing in the trees you can see the tallest one. This is really painful to me as I just hear what my Mom would be saying about each one! Funny what brings the tears on anymore, you know? I breezed her Birthday, no big deal, as she was not big on parties centered on her - But every year since I was 21 I would go out of state and bring in the larger works and after our small hometown would shoot theirs off, I and my nephew and others would shoot my families stockpile off! Mom was always the biggest duck in the puddle - it hurts a little really.
I think I am just typing to distract myself at this point, so I will go - I do hope everyone has had a good day, and enjoyed the 'works. I know in a year or two I will also, but right now she just seems so close and so far away at the same time.

Sorry I was such a downer earlier - I am proud to be an American and so glad that we have the freedom to express our pride in such a way. One of these days the memories I have will bring smiles instead of tears, this I know.
I do hope we all take time to Thank A Vet - in some small or large way, whether today, tomorrow or everyday in some way. They have given so much to be able to allow us to picnic and to shoot off big balls of fire in the air - and I am glad to be able to say "Thanks" - to the Vet's - and to my Mom.

I had a nice time at the river with my family watching the fireworks. We had blankets and snacks and the weather was nice. It was good.

Refuse2quit, miss my Mom too. She passed away 2 years ago from breast cancer. She also loved watching fireworks.
