As many of us know, being sexually abused as a child can leave many scars. One for me is not trusting men or myself for that matter.

Does anyone have any suggestions on good books for learning to trust again?

I have done a lot of healing work and somebody gave me a book by Debbie Ford its not about sexual abuse but it is focused on doing a lot of work within yourself. Its called the dark side of the light chasers.I found trust very difficult and sometimes i still do but thats because everyone i had in my life was either my mum and dad and i had to seperate that from the real people and very slowly build up my trust.Its about taking very small steps.

I held everyone in my life at arms length,i didnt trust and would never let anyone close to me, i pushed a lot of good away in my life, but when i started to stop seeing people as my abusers and set healthy boundaries my trust grew.

I would strongly recommend "The Courage to Heal." The day I bought this book was the day my journey towards healing began. My therapist also stongly recommends it. We worked through the workbook together, and it helped me tremendously.
