It's been 3 1/2 weeks since we found out that my brother had been molesting his oldest step-daughter for the last four years. Thankfully this knowledge is no longer invading my every waking moment. I still haven't gone an entire day without thinking about it. But I am able to sleep through the night now. And the anger that I was hanging onto for dear life, I've been able to slowly release my grip on it.
My brother's employer posted bail on the 11th, why I really can't fathom. His preindictment hearing is on the 25th, and his court-appointed lawyer withdrew from the case on the 16th.
With the help of a psychologist, my mother is doing better. We are all receiving psychological help and learning to live with our new family dynamic. I'm sure with hearings and sentencing yet to come, there will be set backs. But we all have our psychologists on speed dial.

Try to take care of yourself. It really is a nightmare, knowing a loved one did something like this. I'm thinking of you both, and the rest of your family. I hope your mom is doing okay.
