My abuse was violent so violent sex scenes will usually trigger me. When this happens I try to tap into the feelings that go along with the trigger. At first all I could feel was the fear but after a while I was able to feel all the other feelings like sadness, hurt and anguish. When I tapped into these feelings I was able to cry and let the feelings out. Sometimes anger was in there too so I would punch the punching bag (or pillow) and scream and yell. I got all the feelings out.
There were times when these scenes would stimulate me too and for those times I had to deal with shame. The shame that my body reacted in a positive way to something that was so painful and violent. For these feelings I would talk to my inner children explaining to them that the body is designed to react a certain way when touched a certain way. In time, the shame did go away and I was able to watch those scenes without shame.
Please know there is nothing wrong with you. You are a normal healthy beautiful person who had a very hurtful childhood.
Hang in there. You are not alone.
I think it is normal to be angry and jealous of people who can connect in a way that you can't because you are supposed to be able to, your body was designed to, and that was STOLEN from you. So, yes be angry about it. Someone took away a vital part of life from you...it's my understanding (my therapist says this) that one can get this part of their life back with time and the right partner...
You are not stupid...

What I mean is I get upset that I can't just be comfortable with sex especially in a relationship. I have no problem with no strings attached sex. I am terrified of sex with someone I care about. So when I see it happen (even in a movie etc) I just feel bad.
I know you have a great deal of faith and that is what helps you. I am glad you have found something. Not that it will really matter to you but I am an atheist. I don't believe in a god the way you do so it makes no difference to me what this entity that you believe in thinks about sex.
Grasshopper , i think it is great that you aren't afraid to look at your feelings when they arise. I'm still in that run away, hide, suppress, stuff, do anything I can to avoid feelings.
