I am sick of feeling like this all the time, and now it has affected my work as now I have lost my job that i loved because I couldnt think straight and did something I new was wrong, but at the time i just didnt care, Now that I have no job to focus on all I can think about is the fact that when I was growing up I was sexually abused by a family friend from ages of 10 until 15 years old by a so called family friend, it is so hard to deal with all it is all can think about all of the time. I went to the doctors a couple of years ago and got told that I was suffering from depression and that I was traumatised by my experience and was given a prescription for anti depression medication and told that i need to talk about what happened to me with a councillor that deals with women who have been sexually abused, but it not that easy i wish to god it were.
I feel so low, dirty and ashamed about what I feel let happen to me when I growing up it all started when i was upstairs in my own bedroom with my young brother playing video games and my dads friend who was downstairs came upstairs to use the bathroom, but instead he came to my bedroom door and touched my breasts over my shirt and told me in my ear so that only i could hear him that this was to be are little secret and this started my 6 years of hell every time i would see him he would abuse me soon he started to touch down there between my legs. It is so hard to deal with that my body reacted to his touch and that is what kills me every single day and every night i go to sleep all I can think about is what that man did to me and the childhood that the bastard took away from me that I will never ever get back.
My childhood ended that day, and that was over 26 years ago, why oh why cant I just put what happened to me behind me. I keep waking up in the middle of night because of nightmares.

Upon his departure, he remarked, "I am in many people’s pockets; no one will believe you." Have you ever grappled with the silence that follows sexual assault, where the perceived impossibility of being believed necessitates self-censorship?

Knowing that our bodies reacted 'positively' to touch when that touch was evil is very difficult to accept but our bodies are designed to react a certain way when touched a certain way. It does not in any way mean that you welcomed that touch.
You deserve to heal from what happened. You have suffered long enough with these memories. Please find a therapist who can help you sort through everything and help you heal. You CAN heal.
Take care
The fact that you keep waking up in the middle of the night with nightmares about this suggests that your mind and heart are struggling to come to terms with what happened and choking on all the feelings you have about it. You need a way to release and process all those feelings, to clear them out so your mind can be free to move into the present moments of your life.
You will never get back the childhood you lost. You have every reason to feel tremendous rage and grief about that. But you don't have to lose your adulthood as well.
Asking why you cannot just put it behind you is like asking why can't a child just put it behind them when they lose a limb. No you did not physically lose a body part but you did lose a part of yourself during that ordeal. Validate yourself by allowing yourself to feel exactly what you feel when you feel it. This is the only way to move through the pain, to acknowledge it and to feel and accept it.
I agree with the others' suggestions that maybe you look for a good therapist. Keep in mind there are many free facilities (depending on where you live) specifically for sexual assault/abuse survivors. If you are unsure of where to start a simple google search in your area for "Sexual assault counseling" would be good, or just call a hotline, they can usually put you in touch with resources. And do not worry about the timing or that it happened x amount of years ago- that doesn't matter to the hotline folks one bit.

Also, one person I found to be really helpful in my healing was and is Teal Swan. Look her up on you tube, she is the spiritual catalyst on there and her videos really resonate with me and have brought me much peace. You mentioned shame in your posting so I will link her video to overcoming shame below.

You are allowed to take as long as you take to heal from this and never feel like you need to be over it, or over it in a certain amount of time.
Sending you so much love and acceptance and hoping you find bits of relief soon!
